What You Will Do

This position is for a Repair Design Summer Internship in the Aftermarket and Sustainment Engineering (ASE) organization. ASE develops innovative repair solutions for all P&W Commercial and Military jet engines in order to economically return the engine to service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Part of a multi-discipline Integrated Product Team [PT] to establish repair design requirements and ensure repairs are safe, durable, and meet the quality requirements of the Original Engineering Manufactured (OEM) parts.
  • Assist in ensuring engineering tasks are tracked and monitored so they are accomplished on schedule and within budget.
  • Assist in research operating environments and functionality of components, their interactions with mating parts, and develop strategies which will return damaged parts back to service.
  • Assist in creating technical documents that will provide engineering requirements for repairs, including a high level sequence of operations forming the basis for manufacturing operation sheets.
  • Participate in the prototyping of new repairs as needed.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in Unigraphics/NX, or equivalent 3D modeling software, is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with a team to develop innovative ideas
  • Experience communicating clear and effective messages to a broad audience

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
