Industrial Engineer Technician

Join our dynamic team as an Industrial Engineer Technician to work onsite at our Fairfield, CA site!

You will write, rewrite, and/or edit technical documents to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. You will acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, and referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. You will oversee preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts. You will also conduct quality review of materials and distribute technical materials through appropriate media channels.

What You Will Do

  • Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and accessibility for a wide range of audiences.
  • Acquire and maintain subject-matter expertise by interviewing product developers, observing production methods, and researching technical resources such as specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
  • Oversee the preparation and selection of illustrative materials, including drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts, to enhance technical documentation.
  • Conduct quality reviews of technical materials to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
  • Distribute technical documents and materials through appropriate channels to ensure timely, effective communication.
  • Assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of technical/business support employees.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) access.
  • Experience as a technical writer or in a related role.
  • Experience using authoring tools and document management systems.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience preparing or overseeing technical illustrations and visuals is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for technical documentation.
  • Experience in business process improvement, operational excellence, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical writing and documentation standards.
  • Experience in training and developing leaders and teams in process improvement.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
