Our Sensors Test Engineering team in Burnsville Minnesota is seeking an Electrical & Electronics Engineer II to join our team of experienced engineers and technicians supporting production. As a member of our team, you will lead in developing, building, troubleshooting, and integrating innovative test solutions supporting commercial and military and defense sensor products. In this role, you will be exposed to a wide variety of test solutions at various stages of their life cycle. A successful candidate will be a fast learner with the ability to respond to requests efficiently. Day-to-day activities include designing and developing test hardware such as cables, power distribution boxes, circuit card assemblies, switch matrices, troubleshooting test solutions, and updating documentation.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist in researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks as well as resolving day-to-day technical problems by troubleshooting electrical devices problems on the production line.
  • Complete drawings, designs, electrical schematics, and wirelist/BOMs as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical devices problems and day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption to production in a manufacturing environment.
  • Design major components or major portions of functional systems, technically advanced prototype test systems, and promotional or specific products using computer design and engineering systems.
  • Develop supporting data and makes layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals to leadership.

What You Will Learn:

  • Gain knowledge to adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Designs electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Learn the life cycle development of aerospace products and test systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Learn how to identify and propose modernization of test equipment conducting independent research and analyses.
  • Learn to work as a team to solve the most difficult problems in manufacturing design.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience developing avionics test solutions.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong understanding of Electronics and Electrical design.
  • Strong background in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with CAD modeling software, preferably SolidWorks or Creo.
  • Familiarity with standard avionics busses including 1553, ARINC, CAN, RS485, RS232, and 1394.
  • Familiarity with ALM JIRA project management (Agile).
  • Able to function at a high-level with multiple tasks and projects, and to effectively change direction based upon business needs.
