Department Support Coordinator

We have an opportunity for a dedicated Department Support Coordinator (DSC) to join the New Product Introduction (NPI) team in Melbourne, FL. If you're eager to learn, grow, and make an impact in a dynamic and collaborative environment, this could be the perfect role for you!

The NPI team drives innovation by developing new processes and technologies for manufacturing and tackling the unique challenges that come with introducing new products with innovative solutions. As a DSC, you'll play a vital role in supporting and coordinating department activities ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. This position offers hands-on experience with the NPI transition process and provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the seamless integration of new products into manufacturing. Your mission will be to make sure we execute and deliver on time based on our customer's needs.

What You Will Do:

  • Plan and prepare manufacturing production schedules, assess changes and improve processes as necessary for NPI programs under your responsibility.
  • Track status of material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, and materials are available as needed.
  • Prepare reports on works in progress (WIP) including Line of Balance (LOB) sheets and provides good visibility by keeping them up to date.
  • Coordinate material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials are timed to meet production requirements.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, and other groups.
  • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of moving orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
  • Support customer requests through direct communication ensuring standard work is followed and considering business impact on each decision.
  • Work closely with Operations Program Managers (OPMs) and NPI engineers in ensuring manufacturing readiness prior to products being released to production.
  • Collect, track and escalate manufacturing improvement opportunities including design and producibility related ones, to both engineering and program management as needed.

What You Will Learn:

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in a planning or administrative support role.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • SAP proficiency.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 7AM-4:30PM on a 980 rotation (every other Friday off)

The salary range for this role is 50,000 USD - 100,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
