Associate Director Of Operations
Collins Aerospace is looking for an Associate Director of Operations who will execute the master schedule by generating and distributing shop floor packets, implement changes to the schedule as required, and communicate all plans and changes in a timely manner. You will also validate and reconcile the ERP system, production reports, identify part shortages and implement recovery plans. In addition, you will approve Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and manage Work in Process (WIP).
Position is working on onsite at our Troy, OH facility. Relocation Assistance is available.
What You Will Do
People
- Responsible for managing and training to operations managers to ensure the departments actively support continuous improvement strategies, methodologies and philosophies
- Core focus on safety and quality
- Ensure celebrations of 'wins' when the area and cells perform
- Ensure processes and systems are in place to drive
- Consistent performance management
- Robust onboarding and training of operators and supervisors
Lean Manufacturing
- Partner with CORE / CI to support the site transformation journey
- Develop area leaders to ensure lean manufacturing principles are fully implemented on the shop floor.
- Create cells through product/process family alignment
- Transform Cells to flow / pitch / takt
- Standard Work (Time based standard work for all functions)
- Process Confirmation (validation of completion of standard work)
- Flow (linkage and flow of processes)
- Resilience (Man and Material in required quantities, SWIP:WIP)
- Winning vs. Losing (constant visibility of performance to plan)
- Closed Loop Systems (corrective actions for all losses)
- Standardization and execution of area and departmental roles, including productivity metrics
Results
- Determine / monitor / improve KPI's as established by site and business need
- Roll up metrics from all ongoing cell projects within the area and departments Strategy
- Develop the strategy, plans, and execute all activities related to the Machining, Shared Services, and Assembly departments
- Manage and facilitate the monthly adherence to business objectives
- Ensure robust root cause and corrective actions (DAISE) where needed
- Create a culture of accountability, data (for measurement and decisions), and winning
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a university degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
- Demonstrated success in leading manufacturing teams, driving operational improvements, and managing budgets
- Ability to influence and communicate across all levels of the organization
Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrated adaptability and skilled in conflict resolution
- Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and methodologies: Lean, Six Sigma, ACE or CORE
- Demonstrated success in creation and execution of standard processes
