Engineering Support Assistant

Working with immediate supervision, this position is responsible in assisting engineers with documentation, process and general engineering related support activities. Tasks typically are routine and repetitive that are reviewed for adequacy, accuracy, and completeness. Must demonstrate the ability to support several engineers, providing a wide variety of administrative and computer skills to assist engineering projects. Assignments may include assisting with word processing, data entry and preliminary document preparation utilizing computing resources, change management process, and requirements capture.

This is an onsite position based in Huntsville, Alabama.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist with tool support to Engineering: MS Office Apps, requirements capture databases, change management and tracking tools. Generate reports as required.
  • Operate within a Scaled Agile Framework environment and perform related duties to enable the team to work efficiently.
  • Assist in tracking action items, and tasks in the change management tools.
  • Build productive working relationships internally. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation.
  • Edit format of software / hardware documentation based on direction from peer group and engineering.
  • Assist in ordering and shipping of program materials.
  • Perform project non-technical duties using detailed verbal/written instructions and standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks, adhering to Policy/Process deployment.
  • Assist with Customer Owned Property Inventory, Shipping, Receiving and tracking.

Education & Experience You Must Have:

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with less than 2 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 1-2 years of administrative support experience, preferably in an engineering or technical environment.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential. Familiarity with other Office tools is a plus.
  • Data entry & record keeping experience is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Associates degree in a related field such as Business Administration or Technology
  • Experience with requirements capture databases and change management tools.
  • Basic understanding of software/hardware documentation formatting.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping procedures.

The salary range for this role is 36,000 USD - 66,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
