Kill Chain Analysis Engineer I
Raytheon is currently seeking a Kill Chain Analysis Engineer I. This is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ, with the potential for occasional travel, perhaps a few times a year.
The Integrated Solutions, Modeling, and Architecture (ISMA) directorate assesses, develops, and evaluates solution architectures for our customers' largest, most complex challenges across all the operational domains. In the Operations and Mission Analysis Department you'll be part of a special team that analyzes the world's most challenging threats and helps define new capabilities to counter them, pushing the boundaries of innovation, and leading the industry in operational modeling and simulation using our purpose-built software. As a team member in the Air Dominance Modeling and Analysis section, you will join a high-performing team of engineers working with high-fidelity sensor, platform, and weapon simulations to provide actionable analysis to the Department of Defense and the Warfighter.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate across multiple programs to understand system behavior and performance.
- Contribute and Collaborate in an agile team environment, frequently interfacing with internal team, external customers, and vendor system Subject Matter Experts.
- Investigate and Evaluate new and conceptual kill chains
- Contribute to trade studies to assess kill chain effectiveness in a highly complex, evolving environment.
- Support the utilization and operation of a high-fidelity all-digital distributed simulation environment to provide the Department of Defense and Warfighters with actionable analysis
- You will participate in the verification, validation, and testing of models, software components and/or integrated systems.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field.
- Experience with at least one object oriented programming language (Python, C++, Java, C#, etc)
Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Qualifications We Prefer
- Specific majors: Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering, Probability and Statistics
- Cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0
- Coursework, internship, projects or work experience in the following areas:
- Simulation modeling, development, and/or analysis of physical systems
- Software Configuration Management tools and processes (git, subversion, mercurial)
- Statistical Analysis using scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or R.
- Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) or Surrogate Modeling
- Developing data analysis pipelines and/or dashboards
- Computation on high-performance computing (HPC) grids/clusters, SLURM
- Demonstrated ability in the following areas:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively collaborate with peers, customers, management, and functional partners (IT, Cyber Security, Security).
- Creation and presentation of effective technical reports in PowerPoint and Document form.
- Prior experience in or with military, or substantive domain knowledge of tools and tactics of warfare
- Prior experience with classified material
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET or TOP SECRET security clearance
