Production Engineer

The role of Production Engineer is broad, spanning production, quality control and supply chain activities. You will manufacture our "off-the-shelf" kits, which in our case refers to lab-based production with small-volume handling. For materials not produced directly by you, you will contribute to routine quality control (QC) testing to ensure the highest standards of product quality.

We are a small company and therefore all of us have diverse responsibilities to ensure smooth operations; from raw material handling to finished product in the hands of our customers world-wide.

At Rarity, you will find dedicated, performance-oriented colleagues, a culture that values openness, respect, and diversity, and the chance to make a difference in a pioneering setting.

The role is based in our office in Uppsala Science Park. Our operations adhere to the ISO 13485 quality management system for medical devices.

Your Profile

We believe you thrive in a practical, hands-on role and enjoy working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You have a background in life science, from studies and direct lab experience. Most importantly, you love working at the bench!

You are structured and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to follow established protocols and ensure accuracy in your work. At the same time, you bring flexibility and a collaborative mindset, developing in a small and growing organization where responsibilities often span across multiple areas.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Education in life science, biotechnology, or a related technical field or equivalent hands-on experience (e.g. Laboratory Technician, Biomedical Laboratory Scientist, BSc degree in relevant area, or equivalent).
  • Experience from a lab-based role in a regulated environment (e.g. clinical analysis, QC, lab-based manufacturing).
  • A structured and detail-oriented way of working and documentation.
  • A flexible and collaborative mindset, comfortable working across different areas in a small and dynamic organization.
  • Good communication skills in English. Swedish knowledge is beneficial.

Why Join Us?

At Rarity Bioscience, we believe in fostering a vibrant and collaborative work environment. We have co-located all functions in a modern office in Uppsala Science Park and we regularly organize team get-togethers and off-site events to strengthen our bonds and celebrate our successes.

Apply now and become a part of our mission to enable efficient mutation detection and improve patient outcomes worldwide. We accept applications until 25th of October.
