The Product Development Division handles everything from system service planning related to payment services, planning and implementation related to UI/UX, basic and detailed system design, coding, testing, and operation. As the service expands, you will be able to experience the planning, development, and operation of a very large-scale system. In recent years, the cashless payment market has rapidly expanded worldwide, and our service "Rakuten Pay" has also been growing its performance domestically. Consequently, the importance of the digital infrastructure as a mission-critical payment platform, including its public utility, sophistication, and convenience, has been increasing day by day. This necessitates the establishment of a dynamic multi-cloud environment and the assurance of stable operation across these services. We are looking for members who can support our business growth through the evaluation and analysis of system resources, enhancement of monitoring, and automation of operational tasks. To ensure the Rakuten Pay services work stable so that users and merchants use our service with safe and confident, we will ask you to work as a system engineer to do service operation and to improve service operation and maintenance itself. Service operation means the necessary tasks necessary to maintain service, such as service monitoring, trouble investigation and management, and regular operation. To carry out these operations, it is necessary to collaborate with other departments, such as those in charge of development of back end, mobile, and other services' operations so the position requires a high level of communication skills. In terms of service operations, as you know, regarding Rakuten Pay, its users, its merchants and its services are expanding, we must proceed improvement activities daily basis to keep the expanding our services as payment platform. Naturally some members come from abroad, so you can improve their English communication skills.
Operational and maintenance tasks, including application deployment to production environments (primarily backend), data patching, monitoring, troubleshooting and analysis, system maintenance, and investigating inquiries from customer service and related departments.
Infrastructure work related to the design and construction of system platforms in a cloud environment, including containers, microservices, CI/CD, orchestration, databases, and Java EE.
Evaluate and analyze over- and underutilization of system resources, identify issues, plan and implement improvements, strengthen monitoring, automate operational tasks, and promote system modernization through codification.
Understand non-functional requirements (performance, availability, security, etc.) and propose their reflection in system design and construction.
General organizational management tasks, including organizational management of operations departments, formulating and implementing system operation plans, and formulating and implementing disaster recovery plans based on IT-BCP.
These tasks will require collaboration with backend and mobile developers, external vendors, maintenance and operation staff for other services, and other departments, so strong communication skills are required. Additionally, as some members will be foreign nationals, English communication skills may be required. After hiring, assignments will be determined based on experience and aptitude, while also taking into account the individual's preferences.
