The team responsible for global mobility within the Group Human Resources Supervisory Department will provide support and develop systems to ensure that the right talent is deployed to the regions where it is needed in a timely manner, thereby driving the Rakuten Group's global business forward. In addition to managing daily assignment projects and payroll processes, you will be expected to improve and innovate processes from the viewpoints of efficiency and effectiveness.

Large-scale HR experience is valuable as we are not only running fixed workflows, but we put effort on continuous improvement from many angles. To accelerate Rakuten Group's global business, Global Mobility & Coordination Group in HR Operations Section of the Employee Relations Department supports timely staffing by building mechanisms and providing support to place the best people where they are needed. We are looking for a potential manager who can take ownership of leading the team within this function. Beyond global mobility work, you will also consider and lead operational improvements to continuously strengthen daily execution.

A young, diverse team where people share ideas openly and grow by learning from each other. You can gain broad HR experience while working on tasks that require many HR viewpoints, such as building new systems and reviewing policies and rules. The employees you support work at offices around the world, so you will need to consider global situations as well as differences in local environments and cultures. Because this role requires flexibility, it is challenging and helps you develop strong, advanced problem-solving skills.

Management of the team responsible for the following tasks:

  • Relocation support for overseas assignments (managing relocation and visa vendors)
  • Payroll processing for assignees and support for tax-related tasks
  • Managing business travelers and arranging travel insurance coverage
  • Operations related to international transfers (moving employees to overseas entities)
  • Improving operational processes
  • Handling employee inquiries and labor management
  • Other related tasks

The Global Mobility & Coordination Group in the HR Operations Section of the Employee Relations Department consists of about five members. You will support team members and manage ongoing project cases to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. In the future, you may also gain broader, general HR experience through rotations within Employee Relations Department. Depending on your interests and fit, there are also career paths to expand your experience into other HR functions, such as Recruiting, Learning & Development, HRBP, and HR Planning.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Experience in payroll operations or tax-related work
  • Hands-on experience in global HR or mobility (e.g., relocation support)
  • Business experience using English in the workplace

Desired Qualifications:

  • Tax-related knowledge
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working on an overseas assignment (as an expatriate)
  • Experience in HR planning and/or HR system design
