Department Overview

This position belongs to the Media Business within the Marketing-related businesses, which operates a lifestyle media platform with over 10 million monthly users. With the mission "Close to everyday life," we deliver points-related content, news, and lifestyle information to provide users with a fun and valuable daily experience.

The position is specifically responsible for the household budgeting and asset management app, which visualizes users' financial flows in a fun way and supports them in saving money. This startup-like initiative launched the iOS version in April 2024 and plans to release the Android version in 2025.

Position Details

We are seeking a marketing leader who will drive the growth of Rakuten Kakeibo by expanding the user base and enhancing brand recognition. With an annual marketing budget at the multi-hundred-million JPY scale, you will be responsible for strategic planning, execution, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and tactics
  • Oversee and optimize digital advertising operations (Google, TikTok, Meta, etc.)
  • Plan and lead large-scale internal campaigns
  • Design, monitor, and optimize KPIs and related initiatives
  • Define and manage customer segments (e.g., loyal users, entry users)
  • Identify issues and opportunities through data analysis and plan new initiatives
  • Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and developers to generate insights
  • Improve and automate marketing operations and workflows
  • Manage and mentor marketing team members

Team size: L2: 1, L3: 1

Ratio of new graduates to mid-career hires: new graduates (30%), mid-career (70%)

Average overtime: around 10–20 hours per month

Mandatory Qualifications:

- 5+ years of marketing experience in consumer-facing services

- Hands-on knowledge and proven results in digital ad operations (Google, Meta, TikTok, etc.)

- Experience managing large-scale marketing budgets at the several-hundred-million-JPY level and measuring ROI

- Team or project management experience

- Strong data-driven decision-making skills and KPI management experience

- Ability to work with speed, ownership, and leadership in a fast-paced environment

Desired Qualifications:

- Leadership experience in in-house marketing organizations

- Experience in CRM and customer segmentation strategy

- Proficiency in SQL or BI tools for data analysis

- Marketing experience in FinTech, household management, or financial services

- Experience in marketing for new business launches or startups
