Business Overview

The Group Sales Division leads brand, creative, marketing, and membership as a cross-group organization with a mission to expand Rakuten Group's membership value and ecosystem of over 70 services. We believe that the mobile domain is a platform that plays a fundamental role in the ecosystem, and as the Group Sales Division, we are further promoting collaboration with Rakuten Mobile.

Device Business Department contributes to Rakuten Mobile's business through strategic planning and sales of devices. The Device Strategy Section has a mission to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth for Rakuten Mobile's business by leveraging devices as a hook. To achieve this, we formulate the portfolio and sales plans for devices handled by Rakuten Mobile, such as smartphones and mobile Wi-Fi routers, based on diverse data analysis and survey results. Additionally, we perform various tasks including coordinating with relevant internal departments and communicating with each manufacturer.

Position Details

As a member of the Device Strategy Section, you will be assigned the following duties depending on your experience and skills:

  • Product planning
  • Device portfolio and sales planning management
  • Business communication with product manufacturers
  • Various product data analysis

We expect you to proceed from model selection to roadmap creation and contribute to the organization's mission of acquiring customers and increasing revenue in the Rakuten mobile business.

Desired Qualifications:

Sales experience with external clients/partners. Experience in sales planning or product planning. Experience in project promotion/management with external stakeholders. Practical experience at a hardware manufacturer or IT company. Note: All experiences listed above should be in a primary role or as a manager.
