Business Planning Position At Rakuten Mobile

As a Business Planning member in the Enterprise Business Unit at Rakuten Mobile, you will be responsible for market research, competitive analysis, strategy development, KPI management, management accounting, and the promotion of company-wide projects. This department supports problem-solving for both field teams and executive management to maximize overall company performance.

Business Management Section is, with the goal of improving its profitability, responsible for managing and reporting on financial data related to mobile corporate business (Business PL, Customer Revenue, Various KPI, Expenses).

The corporate business within the mobile segment is an area of significant growth and strategic importance for our company. As such, our section holds a vital position, particularly in reporting to management and deal review.

We collaborate extensively not only with various teams across our business division but also with specialized departments such as Finance and Accounting.

This recruitment is for the purpose of filling a vacancy and strengthening the organization. In the mobile corporate business, with many aggressive projects in progress in parallel, it is essential to grasp the overall business and estimate the impact of new projects in a timely and input the information necessary to make management decisions with a speedy sense.

We are looking for a person who has experience of corporate planning in a position close to management.

You will be responsible for estimating and formulating business strategies based on the business PL, developing and managing business budgets, overseeing customer transactions, KPI management and taking various approaches to achieving profit targets.

You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks from business management and business planning to analysis and improvement proposals and provide a variety of feedback to senior management and management on a regular basis.

Beyond desk-based work, you will actively participate in multiple corporate business projects, collaborating with internal and external departments to lead initiatives aimed at improving profitability.

Specific duties include:

• Developing divisional budgets.
• Managing actual vs. budget for management P&L.
• Reviewing customer transactions.
• Identifying issues and proposing improvement plans based on performance data analysis.
• Managing various business KPIs.
• Collaborating and sharing information with financial departments, such as Accounting and Business Planning.
• Creating output materials (in English and Japanese) using tools like PowerPoint and Excel.
• Presenting to executive management.

Mandatory qualifications include:

• Ability to identify and define problems independently.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly and effectively.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel: VLOOKUP, IFS functions, etc.).
• Ability to involve and motivate others to drive projects forward.

• Experience working at a consulting firm more than 3 years.
• Experience in corporate and business planning.
• Experience in telecommunications business.

• Good at proposing trends and measures based on data analysis.
