We are seeking a skilled and proactive Internal IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our UK Sovereign Cloud team.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and evolving the internal infrastructure that underpins our secure, sovereign cloud environment. You will work as part of a collaborative engineering team, ensuring the reliability, performance, and compliance of our internal systems while participating in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support to the internal systems.

This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in high-trust, high-security environments and enjoys working across a broad range of infrastructure technologies across Windows, Linux & Firewall platforms. Any experience of the UK Public Sector would be an advantage.

Must be able to pass an SC Security Check (UK Based, Passport holder 5+ yrs minimum) and potentially be willing to pass a DV security check in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, and optimise internal IT infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents across servers, storage, networking, virtualisation, and cloud-adjacent systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration changes in line with security and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure high availability and resilience of internal systems through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.
  • Creation of automation to ensure repeatable tasks are optimised.
