Municipal Engineer Director Of Citizen Services

The new regional community of Campbellton is looking for an exceptional and motivated person, known for their engaging, innovative, strategic, and collaborative leadership style to fill the important role of Director of Citizen Services within its senior management team.

In a reality of transformation, this new position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality services, ensuring the effective execution of maintenance and construction projects.

The Director of Citizen Services will rely on a strong and stable team to help achieve its objectives and to manage the regular departments and its workforce.

As the head of these various departments, your main role is to ensure that the citizens of the municipality benefit from quality service in terms of roads, water, sewer, building maintenance, and equipment fleet. You will need to lead a multidisciplinary team of about 40 employees and managers, and ensure that everyone works effectively and in a coordinated manner to achieve the objectives of your department.

It is also your responsibility to participate in the planning, optimization, and delivery of quality services and the management of assets. You will need to collaborate with the different departments of the organization to develop effective strategies to meet the needs of citizens while maximizing resource use and respecting allocated budgets.

Furthermore, you will need to closely monitor budget control and implement strategies to ensure the achievement of set objectives, as well as to monitor resources and established projects. You will also need to control and implement performance indicators that cover different aspects, such as quality and optimization of services, continuous improvement, and working conditions.

As part of your role, you will also work towards achieving the objectives set for the departments and for the municipality as a whole. You will need to apply different human resources management policies, such as performance evaluations, recognition program, management of disciplinary records, etc.

Finally, you will need to take the necessary actions to ensure compliance with health and safety rules at work and also provide technical support and project control.

As an ideal candidate, your personal values and work ethic are strong. You are able to work in a bilingual work environment and you speak and write fluently in both official languages. You are a Canadian accredited professional with a university degree and relevant experience in civil or municipal engineering, project management, and personnel management.
