Mechanical Design Engineer – Bogie Design – Rail Domain

The selected candidate, within a team providing engineering support to development programs in the Rail sector, will be involved in a wide range of activities, from 3D design tools to calculations with Excel/Matlab, up to the drafting of technical specifications to support Senior Design Engineers.

In detail, they will be involved in the following activities:

• Designing components and structures of the bogie using CAD tools, collaborating with their supervisor and the other team members;
• Defining the functional logic of the project (technical specifications, descriptions, drawings);
• Realizing the individual sub-components of competence (make or buy), providing solutions for the implementation of the functionalities of the bogie;
• Collaborating with the sub-project groups (internal and external) and ensuring the development of the assigned project part;
• Applying concurrent engineering principles with production engineering departments and liaison engineering;
• Following the production in the prototyping phases and in the validation tests of the components and the bogie.

The ideal candidate possesses the following requirements:

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Aeronautical / Aerospace;
• At least 1 year experience in mechanical design activities, with knowledge of 3D modeling and 2D drawing of mechanical components using CAD software such as Catia V5, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, PTC Creo (previous knowledge of the latter will be a preferred qualification);
• Good command of the English language.

Completing the ideal profile are strong analytical, problem solving, organization and methodology skills, result orientation in a dynamic work context characterized by stringent deadlines, reliability, team work attitude as well as strong communication and relationship management skills, together with organizational flexibility and availability to travel.
