Mechanical Design Engineer - Catia

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign work in Catia (both 3D and 2D), including checking interference of components, tolerance stack-up, and GPS (Geometrical Product Specifications).

• Create and check the Bill of Materials (BOM) for drivetrain components.
• Design and develop gear drive components, such as Shaft, housing, and cover.
• Manage the Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) workflow.
• Perform FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and Risk Assessments.
• Ensure the design meets safety standards and mechanical design requirements.
• Interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Create installation storyboards for DT components to support installation.
• Develop component replacement specifications for service and maintenance, especially for parts that need to be replaced up-tower.
• A good understanding of analytical structural calculations will be an advantage.

Work ExperienceThe ideal candidate holds an academic degree in mechanical engineering in combination with:

• Minimum 8 years of experience with CAD software
• Experience in the design of casting and forging components.
• Preferably, an understanding of onshore-related standards.
• Understanding of engineering calculations.
• Ability to act as a specialized knowledge owner for technical inquiries over time.
• A self-starter with an outgoing personality who proactively takes initiative.
• Able to work well both independently and in team settings.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a collaborative approach to identifying, defining, and resolving issues while determining the best course of action.
• A result-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
