Work Experience

The selected resources, within a team called to provide engineering support to development programs related to aero engines/gearboxes, will be involved in simulation activities, analysis, and structural calculation on single mechanical components or complex systems.

The activities may involve stress analysis, fatigue, crack propagation, etc.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate must have the following requirements:

- Specialist degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering;

- at least one year of work experience in analysis and simulations through finite element method (FEM), in particular on linear and non-linear static and dynamic analyses, thermal, treatment of contacts and behavior of materials for mechanical components;

- experience/ability to use ANSYS APDL and/or Hypermesh software;

- experience/ability to develop macros and scripts for pre-processing/post-processing activities;

- eventual background in turbomachinery and aeronautical engines, transmissions and gears, and basic experience/ability to use CAD tools (e.g. Siemens NX, Solid Edge) will be considered preferential requirements;

- eventual knowledge/experience in fatigue and crack propagation will be considered preferential requirements;

- good command of English.

Completing the ideal profile are strong analytical, problem solving, organization and method skills, result orientation in a dynamic work context characterized by strict deadlines, reliability, team work attitude as well as strong communication and relationship management skills, together with organizational flexibility and availability to travel.

Due to the nature of work, candidates should be EU Citizens in order to be allowed to access classified data.
