Qualitest is seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer to join our team focused on automated testing for VR/MR headsets. In this role, you will help build and maintain automated test suites, streamline CI/CD pipelines, and improve build automation and telemetry systems across both host machines and headset environments.

The position emphasizes developing reliable test infrastructure, ensuring comprehensive test coverage, and creating robust tests for performance-critical tools. You'll work closely with developers, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure stability, performance, and scalability of the testing process.

This is a full-time role in Santa Clara, CA, with all 5 days on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks for tools running on both host machines and VR/MR headsets.
• Integrate tests into CI pipelines and set them up to run locally and remotely.
• Design and implement robust test cases for performance-sensitive features.
• Analyze bugs and perform test case reviews to improve test coverage and reliability.
• Build and maintain automated build workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and QA team members.
• Manage tasks independently and deliver quality work within deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in software development and test automation.
• Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience working with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Excellent debugging, organization, and documentation skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.
• Proficiency with productivity tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Email).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React, PHP, and full-stack development (frontend + backend).
• Familiarity with game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc.).
• Prior experience with VR/MR platforms or embedded systems.
• Understanding of telemetry systems and performance benchmarking tools.
