VP, People Services Operations
The VP, People Services Operations at QTS Data Centers will lead a global team of Compensation, Benefits, Mobility and HR Operations experts to design and implement innovative reward programs that attract and retain top-tier talent while supporting the company's business objectives and growth.
As a key member of the Human Resources leadership team, the VP will contribute to the broader HR strategy as both a thought leader and an operational driver. Based in Overland Park, Kansas, the VP will report directly to the Chief People Officer.
This leader will work closely with business teams, executive leaders, and senior management to align compensation and benefits strategies with organizational priorities, ensuring scalability as the company expands. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset and entrepreneurial drive enabling them to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate and refine compensation and benefits programs using market data and internal metrics to ensure competitive alignment.
- Ensure programs adhere to global objectives, local regulations and company goals.
- Design strategies that attract, motivate and retain top talent while adhering to financial parameters.
- Deliver innovative Equity compensation plans which drive accountability and instill a sense of ownership with eligible employees.
- Lead the development and delivery of balanced and competitive total rewards programs including annual enrollment, 401(k) and other offerings
Policy Development & Implementation
- Continually review and revise existing Total Rewards policies, to ensure alignment with business needs, relevant laws and regulations, employee expectations, and competitive practices.
- Supervise the delivery of new and revised policies, including all relevant communication and training.
HR Technology, Systems & Payroll
- Lead and evolve all HR operational systems and processes to address compliance and budgetary needs, ensuring the support of all strategic decision making and organizational planning accurately and efficiently.
- Drive the evolution of HR Operations providing best-in-class knowledge and recommendations to build efficiencies and enhance employee experience.
- Leveraging technology to develop seamless processes that support an employee centric on-boarding experience as well as similar processes that support employees transitioning out (off-boarding) of QTS.
- Ensure that all payrolls are processed accurately and on time, in partnership with Finance team. Proactively address payroll and operations-related issues and processes to maintain efficiency and best practices.

- Lead and mentor a team of Total Rewards and HR operations professionals, focusing on professional development and growth opportunities.

Global Mobility
- Develop framework and policies to facilitate the smooth transition for employees who are moving across different QTS locations both domestically and internationally.
- Design and maintain global and domestic mobility policies, including relocation packages, allowances and benefits keeping policies competitive with aligned with appropriate benchmarks.
- Ensure proper compliance with labor and tax laws as well as regulations are adhered to across geographies.
- Advise leadership and employees on changing immigration policies and requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Fifteen or more years of relevant Human Resources, Compensation and Benefits management experience, including working with, supporting and influencing senior level executives.
- Three or more years of experience that includes working within a global organization or exposure to international compensation and benefits programs.
- Three or more years of experience planning and managing resources to deliver high-quality results that are aligned with key organizational objectives. Continually guiding the professional growth and development of team members to achieve career goals and to improve individual and team contributions to the organization.
- Experience leading Total Rewards function and expertise in designing and implementing innovative compensation and benefits strategies that support all functional areas including Technology, Legal, Finance and Sales.
- Strong understanding of labor market trends and regulatory requirements across the US, UK, and Europe.
- Experience working with and/or in the implementation of HR Technology and Payroll platforms. Hands-on experience with Workday and other ERP platforms such as Oracle desired.
- Experience with data analytics and HR metrics, including visual representation and decision support insights.
- Ability to manage processes and support decision making on sensitive and confidential issues.
- Strong technical and analytical skills, ability to manage, organize, combine and interpret substantial amounts of data from disparate sources to develop and present insights that support effective decision making.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Familiarity with laws, rules and regulations related to compensation management and international assignments.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with different levels within and outside the People team.
