About the Assignment
Saddlebrook Resort is an iconic, independent destination resort located just north of Tampa, currently undergoing a significant transformation with a $92M renovation and planned relaunch by the end of 2025. This Task Force DOSM assignment is a hands-on, interim leadership role designed to provide immediate commercial stability and momentum while the resort completes its search for a permanent DOSM/VP of Sales.
This role is ideal for a seasoned sales leader who can step in quickly, assess the current landscape, lead the team, and keep revenue strategy and execution moving forward during a critical transition period.
Primary Focus of the Task Force Role
- Provide immediate leadership and continuity across Sales & Marketing functions during the interim period
- Stabilize and support the existing sales team, ensuring focus, accountability, and clear priorities
- Maintain and advance group, corporate, association, leisure, golf, and event sales pipelines
- Actively engage in key sales calls, client relationships, site inspections, and negotiations
- Partner closely with Revenue Management and Operations to protect rate strategy and near-term revenue
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for ownership and executive leadership during the assignment
- Support the property through renovation-related messaging and positioning as it prepares for relaunch
- Ensure a smooth handoff and transition plan for the incoming permanent leader
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day Sales & Marketing operations with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach
- Execute existing sales strategies while identifying quick wins and risk areas
- Oversee forecasting, pacing, and pipeline reviews; adjust strategy as needed to meet revenue goals
- Maintain strong relationships with key accounts, third-party planners, and industry partners
- Utilize STR, market intelligence, and competitive data to guide short-term decision making
- Ensure CRM discipline (Delphi.fdc or similar), reporting accuracy, and team organization
- Represent the resort professionally with ownership, stakeholders, and external partners
Ideal Task Force Profile
- 5+ years of DOSM or VP-level experience in full-service or resort environments
- Strong preference for independent resort experience; Florida/Tampa market familiarity highly valued
- Proven ability to enter a property quickly, assess challenges, and lead through transition
- Confident, decisive leader who can balance strategy with execution
- Comfortable operating with ownership visibility and executive-level communication
- Experienced in managing teams through change, renovation, or leadership gaps
- Highly adaptable, organized, and solutions-oriented
Employment Status & Benefits:
Task Force roles are classified as temporary, full-time positions. Temporary employees are not eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, paid time off, retirement savings plans, or bonus programs.
Compensation
Task Force assignments are compensated on a weekly rate basis and paid biweekly or in accordance with the property's payroll schedule. Compensation is determined based on role level, scope, location, and assignment complexity. The pay range for this position is $1,500–$2,500 per week, depending on assignment level. Actual compensation will be confirmed at the time of assignment.
