Serves as the primary supervisory member of the Outdoor Services and Recreation departments. Coordinates and assists all activities of recreation, the marina, marina retail shop, campground, and welcome gate, and outdoor services attendants. Directly supervises three subordinate supervisors. Manages the development processes of long- and short-term goals, employee development, budget, purchases or requisitions supplies and equipment. Coordinates all aspects of the marina, campground, and recreation departments. Represents Director of Resort Facilities in his/her absence in areas associated with this position.

Interprets and develops policies and programs to ensure a well-trained staff and profitable operations.
Assists in the development of long- and short-term goals. Provides input on progress of attaining these goals. Makes recommendations to improve operations. Makes in-field adjustments to daily assignments. Reviews property conditions daily and makes adjustments to operations accordingly.
Develop recreation programs and activities. Assist guests with all requests pertaining to Resort Rascals, Naturalist program, Outdoor special events, and recreational activities.
Manage Little Sorrel program. Ensure schedules are met. Schedule captains and support staff. Communicate changes to all associated parties and through Delphi.
Inspects recreation, marina docks, storeroom, campground, and welcome station to ensure that areas are a clean and safe environment. Develop standards for these areas.
Inspect marina rental fleet and outdoor services vehicles to ensure proper maintenance is being used to keep fleet in good working condition. Develop rental programs in these areas.
Keep accurate record of all tenant transactions (billing, slip moving, updating leases). Write letters, reports, and correspondence to tenants. Manages schedules and back-up documentation.
Manages monetary transactions and provides accurate back-up to Accounting department.
Plan and keep cost records. Establish budget controls to ensure profitable outdoor services operations. Manage cost of sales portion of budget.
Coordinates work with outdoor services and recreation supervisors and staff members engaged in daily activities.
Order merchandise for marina and recreation stores. Determines pricing to meet sales objectives. Manages retail operations in the marina shop, including fuel, bait, F&B, and other retail. Maintains adequate inventories, requisitions for and orders appropriate stock levels. Maintain effective cost controls in these areas. Participates in inventory counts and ensures information is forwarded to appropriate departments.
Develops marketing programs to increase occupancy levels and usage rates in all associated areas. Provides input on pricing and budgeting. Provides feedback on programs and opportunities for revenue growth.
Train and develop personnel in the Outdoor Services and Recreation operations. Holds daily, weekly, and monthly meetings as needed to keep staff informed. Ensures proper communication throughout the departments.
Initiates and conducts interview, review, and discipline processes. Contacts new employees for interviews. Works within resort policies and provides appropriate documentation to HR and Accounting for new hires. Initiates background check processes. Processes employees into payroll.
Make decisions and participates in policy formulation for Outdoor Services departments.
Devise and implement programs to increase customer quality and service in all departments. Develop new programs to attract new and repeat guests.
Participates in appropriate meeting relating to this department. This includes weekly resort staff meeting, department management meeting, safety meetings, CEO meetings, and special event discussions.
Participates in the development and implementation of yearly budget and forecast costs. Review P&L statements and make appropriate adjustments. Participates in the development of monthly comments to Accounting.
Participates in development and implementation of capital budgets.
Participates in grant development processes. Provides input on recreational opportunities.
Review and maintain guest comment card program. Ensure appropriate consideration is given to guest comments.
Develop and maintain outdoor services and recreation historical data. Ensure data is kept up to date and submit, as needed.
Maintain effective staffing and cost controls in all areas of outdoor services and recreation, in relation to customer service requirements and efficient operations. Develops and approves schedules.
Must coordinate operation of outdoor services and recreation stations with other departments in the resort. Works with Marina, Campground, and Recreation Supervisors to ensure work quality is completed at a high level.
Reports problems encountered on site immediately. Takes appropriate steps to address emergency situations.
Participates in MOD program.
Flexibility to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand. Weekends and holidays are required as needed.

Environment: In and outdoors setting, sun, heat, cold, snow, and rain possible. Works in a variety of weather conditions.
Qualifications:
3 seasons of experience in Retail Operations, Lodging, or Customer Service is required. Prefer experience in similar industries, i.e. Recreation, Parks and Recreation, Marina, Campground.
AAS Degree in Business, Management, Finance, or Recreation required. Strong desire to improve knowledge through educational opportunities. Significant experience at similar properties may be substituted.
Experience with Micros and Maestro system is helpful
