✨ About The Role
- Lead multiple mechanical design and development projects from initial requirement definition to serial production and field support
- Mentor junior engineers, provide project management expertise, and oversee the design, prototyping, testing, and documentation of flight critical mechanical parts and assemblies
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop tools and processes for in-house part production and work closely with external suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of products
- Utilize expertise in 3D CAD, FEA, and hand calculations to validate mechanical design decisions and iterate on designs as needed
- Play a central role in supporting the existing fleet of aircraft and developing the next generation through continuous learning and iteration
⚡ Requirements
- Experienced mechanical design engineer with at least 5-8 years in the aerospace or related industry, capable of leading projects from conceptualization to production
- Proficient in designing and analyzing composite structures, as well as various manufacturing processes such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and injection molding
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate, identify root causes, and provide solutions for complex hardware issues
- Excellent communication skills to mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and work closely with external suppliers
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of projects, and contributing to the continuous learning and growth of the team
