Strategy & Operations Senior Associate Or Manager

PwC Bulgaria is looking for a Strategy & Operations Senior Associate or Manager to join our Energy, Utilities and Resources consulting practice in South East Europe.

You will be based in Sofia but part of PwC's South East Europe management consulting practice and energy, utilities, and resources consulting team.

PwC's energy, utilities, and resources team assists clients on national and corporate level in solving complex strategic and operational challenges in various topics across the energy value chain. Blending strategic thinking with hands-on practicality, our teams of consultants and experts work to develop and implement strategies that solve our clients' most important problems.

What you'll do:

• Support business development activities with focus on Bulgarian market to identify new business opportunities in power & utilities, renewables, oil & gas, resources, and other related sub-sectors
• Drive and develop winning proposals to existing and new clients in Bulgaria (and other SEE countries) which range from public institutions, international organizations, vertically integrated companies to specialized companies in the energy value chain
• Build relationship with client's team and management
• Support and manage development of meaningful recommendations, solutions, and ideas that add value and answer client needs
• Lead and manage projects while ensuring timeliness and high quality of deliverables
• Closely work with our South East Europe energy consulting teams, as well as our international teams in CEE and EMEA region
• Participate in the global PwC network to share knowledge and provide a truly global perspective for our clients
• Support the development of others through mentoring and coaching

What we expect from you:

• 4-8 years of relevant industry experience within renewables, power & utilities, trading, oil & gas, resources or other energy sub-sectors on management positions in Bulgaria and/or South East Europe
• Previous experience in consulting (does not have to be in energy space) will be considered an advantage for this role
• Hands on experience and/or understanding of energy transition policies, shifts in corporate strategies, ESG agenda topics, new business models, new technologies (e.g. hydrogen, renewable gases, EVs etc.), preparation of feasibility studies/business cases, market modelling, new products/service offerings for end users, and target operating model design
• Strategic thinking and "helicopter view" in bringing global perspective but also understanding local energy market specifics to make tangible results for our clients
• Experience in managing projects and teams
• Excellent team player with a proactive attitude
• Ability to adapt to an intense work environment and work in challenging circumstances
• Strong analytical, conceptual and project management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, proactiveness, and enthusiasm about delivering value to clients
• University education with master’s degree in business or technical field (MBA and/or PhD is a plus)
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in English and Bulgarian, in both speaking and writing
• Open to travel on project basis
