ICFR Specialist

As a managed service delivery generalist at PwC, you will execute outsourced processes, such as client and customer interaction; data review, enrichment and processing; implementing and monitoring quality controls; and resolving escalations and queries.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ICFR Specialist to join our Risk Managed Services team in the UAE. This role will support clients in designing, implementing, and testing internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), with a focus on regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and audit readiness. This role is part of our Risk Managed Services offering. You will oversee a portfolio of client engagements and work closely with our Managed Services delivery teams to ensure high quality and efficient execution of ICFR engagements. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in control frameworks such as COSO, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multi-entity engagements. This is a client-facing role requiring collaboration with finance, compliance, and audit stakeholders.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Lead and execute ICFR engagements across multi-entity structures, ensuring alignment with COSO and other relevant frameworks.
- Perform walkthroughs, gap assessments, and control validations for financial and operational processes.
- Develop and maintain Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs), including Entity-Level Controls (ELCs), Process-Level Controls (PLCs), and IT General Controls (ITGCs).
- Oversee a team of Managed Services Analysts in our delivery hubs to ensure quality of testing and documentation of outcomes.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders including finance teams, compliance officers, and external auditors to ensure effective control design and implementation.
- Support automation initiatives within ICFR processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and control enhancement.
Expected skills include:
- Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, particularly COSO, and their application in financial reporting environments.
- Proficiency in execution of control testing methodologies, including design and operating effectiveness assessments.
- Skilled in developing and maintaining Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs), including ELCs, PLCs, and ITGCs.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools used in control environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders across finance, audit, and compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and coordinating PMO activities across multi-entity engagements.
- Flexibility to travel and work across subsidiaries or group entities as needed.
Expected competencies include:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail in control environments.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and drive quality outcomes in complex, multi-entity engagements.
Required language skills include:
- Proficient in written and spoken English. Arabic speaking an advantage.
Minimum education and specific qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIA) with strong grounding in IFRS and financial reporting standards.
Minimum years experience required:
- 3-5+ years of experience in ICFR with prior exposure to COSO framework and control testing methodologies (Design & Operating Effectiveness).
