The compensation target range for this role is:

$89,300 - $105,000

Job Summary

Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Merchandise Planning, the Merchandise Planner is responsible for supporting all activities associated with managing demand plans for the wholesale channel. They will provide analytical support to the sales and merchandising teams to strategically drive the business, maximize sales & margin and optimize inventory production and procurement. The individual will demonstrate business agility and strategic thinking, leveraging internal and external data to make fact-based decisions. They will build/maintain effective cross-functional relationships with Sales, FP&A, Analytics and Supply Chain.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, analyzing and forecasting sales and profitability for select wholesale partners
  • Analyze sales and wholesale partner buy plans at the Category, Model and SKU level to identify risks and opportunities
  • Provide strategic direction, both preseason and in season, to ensure increased sales and profitability
  • Create financial business cases for potential new product introductions
  • Develop working relationships with cross-functional teams to optimize financial success and appropriate inventory levels
  • Develop sales & buy plans for select wholesale partners/accounts
  • Monitor sales trends and promotional activities to extract learnings, ensure success and inform future promotional strategies
  • Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities to grow the business
  • Manage weekly reporting requirements
  • Develop, maintain and update tools & data, reports, etc. to support the needs of the business
  • Partner with Account Directors and Managers to gain critical insights needed to optimize forecast accuracy

Required Skills, Education, Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years work experience in Wholesale Planning or Retail Planning
  • Demonstrated experience in retail data analysis and Open to Buy management
  • Expert knowledge and capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math
  • Possess good organizational and time management skills
  • Planning and Priority Setting: Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals
  • Problem Solving & Decision ability: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
