The Role
Join our Infrastructure Shared Services (ISS) team to be the driving force behind the reliability and scalability of Pure Storage's core engineering and production infrastructure. You will architect, deploy, and maintain the critical tools and services that empower our global engineering teams to innovate faster, ensuring seamless product development and deployment from data centers to public clouds. This role is a vital blend of software engineering and systems operation, focused on automating our future and delivering exceptional availability for all internal customers.
What You'll Do
- Elevate Reliability & Automation: Design and implement robust software platforms and automation frameworks for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), significantly reducing manual intervention and accelerating the delivery of new features and product updates.
- Drive System Design & Performance: Own the end-to-end design, operation, and maintenance of product features, leveraging data and metrics to continuously analyze performance, troubleshoot complex production issues, and enhance system stability across hybrid cloud environments (bare metal and public cloud).
- Strategic Integration & Development: Develop and integrate custom software solutions with internal back-end systems, ensuring our infrastructure services align with both engineering needs and overall business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, developers, and engineers across global time zones to ensure system readiness, define capacity planning, and advocate for best-in-class DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices from concept through launch.
- Project Ownership & Influence: Participate actively in project planning and product management decisions, driving key initiatives related to infrastructure modernization and service improvements to meet evolving customer requirements.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar Site Reliability Engineering role.
- Proven software engineering skills with hands-on coding experience in at least one modern programming language (Go or Python preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in the design, robust implementation, successful delivery, and long-term maintenance of complex software systems.
- Strong infrastructure proficiency, with the ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and debug enterprise-level environments across compute, networking, and storage layers.
- Expertise working with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform) and advanced automation/CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
- Deep experience with containers and container orchestration systems such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving, combined with clear, professional communication skills and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Pure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
