Associate Control Systems Engineer Nuclear

Provide technical support in the Nuclear Strategic Projects department for the Salem Balance of Plant (BOP) Power Uprate Project. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a System/Commissioning Engineer for the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. The engineer is responsible for sponsoring and implementing power uprate modifications.

Some specific duties include:

  • Assess required scope of work and explore alternative solutions for required plant modifications.
  • Sponsor plant modifications through the plant approval process.
  • Perform system lead engineer responsibilities for plant modifications.
  • Ensure systems integration and fulfill the role of plant systems subject matter expert.
  • Support changes to Preventive Maintenance and Surveillance Program.
  • Identify critical spare parts.
  • Support Operations and Maintenance technical procedural changes.
  • Prepare and/or support factory and plant startup testing.
  • Support Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
  • Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
  • Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.
  • Support Emergency Response Organization.

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Controls, Systems or related Engineering / technical degree
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Availability for shift work during installation.
  • Must meet nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
  • A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation is required for this job. Must provide appropriate documentation to meet access requirements on the date of hire.
  • Must have degree before September 30, 2025

Desired:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interface on teams where different styles, approaches and strategies are used to identify and resolve issues.
  • Digital equipment familiarity
  • Familiar with Power Systems Fundamentals
  • Familiar with PLC and DCS Programming and/or SCADA and HMI Development
