We, Prysmian Eindhoven, provide our customers all over the world with glass and fiber optic products and thus the first necessity of life: information supply. Our specialty is production of multimode optical fiber for data and telecom in a high-tech production environment in Eindhoven.

Within our Process Control department we are looking for a Process Engineer. As a Process Engineer you are the owner of a sub-process of the production process. Together with a multidisciplinary team you ensure continuous improvement of the production process and process control with the goal of cost reduction and quality improvement.

An extensive data analysis may be necessary to give direction on where the biggest gains can be made. Improve process control by setting up and introducing new systems and developing the tools needed to do so. Introducing and implementing new production techniques is also part of this. The actual introduction of new production techniques you lead and execute (partly).

Tasks & Activities

• Execute process improvement projects that result in increased revenue or cost savings.
• Lead multidisciplinary expertise team to provide direction for future improvement projects.
• Set up experiments, analyze, draw conclusions and initiate recommendations.
• In multidisciplinary teams break down control problems into causes and set up and execute an improvement plan.
• Support and instruct production in the use of the process control system.
• Support production with process deviations.
• Supervising roll-out projects in production.

Requirements:

• Bachelor+ working and thinking level
• Communication in Dutch and English

Knowledge and skills:

• Knowledge: Technological knowledge in the field of physics or chemistry and statistics at HBO/WO level
• Knowledge of project management and change management
• Pre: Apply and support the 6σ methodology
• Core competencies: Accuracy, Analyzing, Quality awareness, Creativity, Actual realization
• Software: Must: MS Office, Pre: Knowledge of Matlab programming language.

For this position, it is important that you can work independently and show ownership. Furthermore, we are looking for a colleague with persuasiveness and good communication skills. In addition, planning and organizing skills are part of the job.
