The Role

Based in the Tokyo office, Proofpoint is looking for a self-starting, responsible, mature, highly motivated renewal sales account manager who can work well with a team of sales account executives, sales engineers, support management, Channel team and Customer Success to ensure the satisfaction of our existing customer base and secure their subscriptions. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, results-driven, and able to engage with both senior-level business leaders and technical stakeholders across small to large-scale enterprises. The successful candidate will have sound sales experience and excellent business acumen blended with strong interpersonal and presentational skills. You will play a hands-on role with the sales organizations in this highly visible position, including direct participation in renewing deals at key accounts.

Your day-to-day:

  • Own and manage the full renewal process for your assigned territory
  • Drive the qualification, quoting, and Salesforce workflows alongside Account Managers and Regional Directors to close renewals efficiently
  • Accurately forecast renewal revenue on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis using Salesforce and other tools
  • Meet or exceed customer renewal revenue quotas
  • Coordinate internal resources to support renewal execution and customer satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships at both executive and operational levels
  • Proactively identify risk and resolve customer issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain a sharp focus on customer retention and satisfaction
  • Research and understand customer organizational structures and maintain account intelligence in Salesforce
  • Track implementation, support activities, and customer engagement metrics
  • Stay informed about Proofpoint's market position and competitive landscape
  • Create customer quotes, maintain accurate data, and ensure accuracy via Salesforce and finance tools

What You Bring To The Team

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly and effectively articulate Proofpoint's value
  • Must be extremely organized, detail and process oriented
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach and the ability to thrive independently and as part of a regional and global team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and exercise sound judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Proven ability to coordinate internal resources to support complex sales and renewal strategies, pricing, and process.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and web conferencing tools
  • Ability to use Salesforce.com and other online tools effectively
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3+ years successful account management, business development or renewal sales experience
  • Experience working with Cybersecurity teams, Channel Partners, Legal, and Procurement departments.
