Our client is a reputable insurance company specializing in providing a wide range of coverage options to individuals and businesses. Location: Fully-Remote (Work from Home), 9 AM - 5 PM EST

Role Overview: As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will be responsible for outbound prospecting, market research, and generating new business opportunities. You will focus on targeting the ideal customer profile (ICP) and specific buyer personas to build and manage your own contact list. This role requires cold calling, email outreach, and social messaging to qualify leads and set up appointments for the sales team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in sales, possess great energy and personality, and be highly self-motivated. Experience in the insurance industry is a huge plus, but not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

Outbound Prospecting & Market Research:

  • Conduct market research to identify and target potential clients, focusing on the ideal customer profile (ICP) and key buyer personas.
  • Generate and build your own contact list using various prospecting methods, including networking, data scraping, and research.
  • Leverage cold calling, email sequences, and social media outreach (LinkedIn, etc.) to reach out to prospects and introduce them to the company's offerings.

Lead Qualification & Appointment Setting:

  • Qualify leads by identifying their needs and determining if they are a good fit for the company's products and services.
  • Set up qualified appointments for the sales team by scheduling calls or meetings with interested prospects.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition to prospects, highlighting key benefits and how the company's insurance solutions can meet their needs.

CRM Management & Follow-Up:

  • Keep track of all leads, contacts, and communication in the company's CRM system.
  • Follow up regularly with prospects to nurture relationships and move them further down the sales funnel.
  • Update and maintain accurate records in the CRM to ensure timely and organized follow-ups.

Collaboration & Teamwork:

  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handoffs of qualified leads and appointments.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to refine outreach strategies and improve lead generation efforts.
  • Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions to discuss progress, goals, and areas for improvement.

Technology & Tools:

  • Be tech-savvy, using tools like a VPN, CRM, and VOIP systems to ensure smooth operations.
  • Comfortable with sales automation tools to streamline email sequences and outreach efforts.
  • Proactively embrace new technology and tools to improve performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Experience & Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in a sales development or outbound prospecting role.
  • Relevant industry experience in insurance or a similar field is a huge plus.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable using technology, including VPNs, assigned VOIP numbers, and CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Strong ability to build rapport, qualify leads, and schedule appointments effectively.
  • Proficiency in using email and social media platforms (LinkedIn, etc.) for outreach and prospecting.
