3D Computer Vision Engineer - Remote Eligible

Our client is an AI infrastructure startup developing cutting-edge AI models for the fashion industry. They are focused on transforming how fashion is experienced through advanced technology. Currently in a pre-revenue, pre-Alpha stage, they are building a foundational team to join their journey from the very beginning as they move toward innovation and growth.

Role Overview

The 3D Computer Vision Engineer will join the team as the first computer vision hire, owning the development of the body measurement and 3D reconstruction pipeline from scratch.

This role is pivotal to building the technical foundation of the product and shipping the Alpha prototype within the next two months, offering a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in an early-stage environment.

Key Responsibilities

Build Computer Vision Models

• Design and develop computer vision models for smartphone-based body measurement.

• Create the 2D-to-3D body reconstruction pipeline to enable real-time body mapping on mobile devices.

Real-Time Processing

• Develop and optimize real-time processing techniques for mobile deployment.

• Ensure seamless performance of the system on edge devices.

Data Collection & Validation Infrastructure

• Build infrastructure for data collection, validation, and testing to support high-quality model training.

• Conduct experiments to validate model accuracy and performance.

Prototype Development

• Ship the Alpha prototype within 4–6 weeks.

• Collaborate with technical and product teams to integrate feedback and iterate during the prototype phase.

Ownership of Technical Foundation

• Lead all technical efforts related to body measurement and 3D reconstruction pipelines.

• Drive technical decisions and best practices.

Qualifications

Experience

• Mid to Senior-level computer vision experience, including shipped products.

• Strong background in 3D reconstruction, point clouds, or semantic segmentation.

• Experience deploying machine learning models to mobile or edge devices.

• Proficiency in Python and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Experience with body pose estimation or human mesh reconstruction.

• Knowledge of real-time computer vision applications.

• Familiarity with mobile machine learning frameworks such as Core ML, TFLite, or ONNX.

• Previous early-stage startup experience is a plus.

Skills

• Ability to build and optimize high-performance real-time computer vision systems.

• Strong technical ownership and ability to lead foundational architecture decisions.

• Problem-solving skills with a focus on rapid experimentation and iteration.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.
