Senior Process Improvement Engineer

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Develop and recommend methods for improving accuracy, efficiency and speed of production processes and provide problem solving training to personnel.
  2. Develop and implement project plans to attain plant quality goals using standardized problem-solving tools.
  3. Lead process audits and activities needed to maintain and improve the production system.
  4. Oversee coordination of training activities in Quality Dojo.
  5. Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; translate insights into actionable improvement plans.
  6. Lead development and implementation quality improvements based on QFL notifications and Pareto analyses provided by Quality.
  7. Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  8. Collaborate in teams and cross-functional groups including global counterparts.
  9. Communicate with management to develop production process standards and conduct KAIZEN workshops to improve processes.
  10. Facilitate the communication to stakeholders on schedules, meetings, progress, and pending issues, on a regular basis.
  11. Serve as Project Manager for designated process improvement projects as assigned by Management and report on workloads, issues, and pending problems.
  12. Submit progress reports that detail project progress in terms of time schedule and budget performance.
  13. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
  14. Perform special projects as required.

Basic Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical / Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and 5 years of manufacturing process improvement experience; or 9 years of manufacturing process improvement experience.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Preferred:

  • Excellent analytical ability and detail orientation where problems are unusual and complex.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others especially on the shop floor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of design of manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent knowledge of materials and methods of manufacture.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent organization, planning and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work overtime as required to support production or project work.
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with SAP
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Project or change management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Project Management certification
