Procurement Sciences Enterprise Deployment Program Technical Lead

Own the design and customer deployment of Procurement Sciences' self-hosted BYOC architecture on Microsoft Azure (Commercial and U.S. Government) and Google Cloud Platform. Lead implementations, harden for compliance, and automate operations with a Kubernetes-first stack. You'll come into a mature, robust deployment of production software across our installed base to become the technical owner & lead of the Enterprise BYOC program, with ownership in defining its future and growth of the technology stack and execution.

The Enterprise Deployment Program Technical Lead is a senior technical role responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting Awarded AI in customer-managed cloud environments. You will serve as the technical bridge between our product and customer infrastructure, leading the full customer journey from initial engagement through production deployment and ongoing operational excellence. This role requires deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, DevOps practices, and government security frameworks.

You will architect and implement BYOC solutions for our enterprise customers across Microsoft Azure US Government, Microsoft Azure Commercial, and Google Cloud Platform, ensuring deployments meet FedRAMP High and CMMC 2.0 Level Two requirements while maintaining security, scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect multi-tenant and single-tenant BYOC patterns: hub-and-spoke VNET/VPC, Private Link/Private Service Connect, egress allow-listing, zero-trust ingress.
  • Stand up AKS/GKE with hardened baselines: node pools, network policies, image signing, secrets management.
  • Build and own IaC (Terraform) and release automation (Helm + GitOps via Argo CD or Flux).
  • Integrate platform services: Key Vault/Cloud KMS (CMEK), Azure Monitor/Log Analytics, Cloud Operations, SIEM, backup, autoscaling.
  • Establish SLOs, capacity and cost guardrails; plan HA/DR and chaos/restore tests.
  • Lead customer workshops, security reviews, production cutovers.
  • Map and evidence 800-53/800-171 controls; align to CMMC 2.0 L2 and FedRAMP High, Azure Government, and GCP Assured Workloads requirements.
  • Design and integrate identity and access: Microsoft Entra ID, SAML 2.0, and OAuth 2.0 for SSO and service access.

Customer Deployment Leadership:

  • Lead the complete customer onboarding journey from technical engagement through production rollout for BYOC deployments
  • Design and architect scalable, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure solutions tailored to customer requirements and compliance frameworks
  • Deploy and configure Awarded AI Kubernetes clusters within customer Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) on Azure Government, Azure Commercial, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Serve as primary technical point of contact for enterprise and government customers, building trusted relationships and providing expert guidance on deployment best practices
  • Conduct technical workshops and architecture review sessions with customer teams to ensure successful adoption

Mentorship and Collaboration:

  • Mentor the BYOC Support Engineer and junior team members on cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and deployment practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product engineering, customer success, and sales teams
  • Participate in technical escalations and provide backup support for critical customer issues
  • Contribute to internal knowledge base and training materials
  • Represent DevOps values and automation-first mindset across the organization
  • You will have support & collaboration from the DevOps Platform & Infrastructure team as well as the Security & Compliance team

Required Experience:

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering
  • 3-5 years of hands-on production Kubernetes experience deploying and managing clusters at scale
  • 2+ years working directly with enterprise or government customers in technical roles
  • Clear customer-facing communication and design documentation skills.

Desired Experience:

  • Azure Government deployments; Conditional Access, PIM.
  • GKE Autopilot, Workload Identity, Anthos; policy with Gatekeeper/Kyverno.
  • Container security (Trivy/Prisma/Aqua), SBOM/SLSA, image provenance.
  • AI workloads: Azure Open AI APIs, Vertex AI
  • Incident management (PagerDuty/Opsgenie), ITIL change control.
  • Demonstrated experience with government contracting security and compliance requirements.

Cloud Platform Expertise:

  • Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure (both Government and Commercial clouds)
    • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) with Azure CNI networking
    • Azure Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Azure Firewall
    • Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID
    • Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Container Insights
    • Understanding of Azure Government isolation, compliance, and ATO processes
  • Desireable: Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform
    • Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) including VPC-native clusters
    • VPC networking, firewall rules, Cloud NAT
    • Workload Identity Federation, Cloud IAM
    • Cloud Build, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging
    • Familiarity with Assured Workloads & CMEK
