Network Operations Specialist
Cape was founded in early 2022 by Palantir and Anduril alums with deep expertise in privacy and national security. While running Palantir's US national security business, our CEO became passionate about privacy and security on mobile devices. Our mission is to be a force for good in global wireless.
At Cape, we are not just another cellular service provider; we are the architects of a privacy-centric movement that starts with the devices in your pocket. We are building a cellular network that helps citizens, including those responsible for our nation's security, regain control of their own data.
We believe that where we are, where we go, and whom we are with are among our most personal information and should be kept private. Privacy is not something you achieve by limiting yourself or by doing less, it is a set of features to be built so you can do more. We have raised money from Andreessen Horowitz and other top-tier VCs, and are excited to grow the team.
We are relentless builders, constantly pushing the boundaries of what's possible and bringing to life ideas that have never before existed. Innovation is at the core of everything we do. At Cape, we trust our team to deliver greatness and empower them to make a profound impact. As a member of our team, you will collaborate seamlessly with our diverse group of talented engineers and other team members, enjoying dynamic interactions with colleagues from across the organization.
We are seeking a Network Operations Specialist to lead the rollout of new networks worldwide and ensure they operate at the highest standard once live. In this role, you'll be at the center of our mission—helping the U.S. and its allies strengthen national security through resilient, cutting-edge telecom infrastructure.
You're not only skilled in network operations, you're driven to make an impact. You want to join a fast-growing company where your work shapes the geopolitical landscape, in a world where telecom is an essential element of modern warfighting.
As the quarterback of the team, you know what needs to get done, can rally the right resources, and are equally ready to step in hands-on when required. You serve as the bridge between customers and delivery teams, ensuring networks are deployed on time, at quality, and to the highest user experience standards.
You combine technical depth with operational leadership: able to dive into troubleshooting details, while also guiding teams through milestones, test cases, and process steps. Simply put, you are the glue that turns plans into successful, secure, and reliable network operations.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Track and manage every detail of network rollouts: define project plans, coordinate resources, and escalate when things go off track.
- Develop and execute test cases for new functionality launches.
- Configure devices and create repeatable runbooks to ensure smooth deployments.
- Gather customer feedback, create and manage trouble tickets, escalate issues as needed, and dive into traces/logs to identify root causes—while keeping documentation and resolution plans up to date.
- Define and document processes to ensure smooth operations, especially during launches and testing.
- Lead launch operations planning and execution, including methods of procedure (MOPs), rollback strategies, maintenance windows, and delivery approvals.
- Build and maintain critical systems and 3rd-party tools that automate network operations.
- Deliver anonymized dashboards for partner MNOs, ensuring they have visibility into usage on their networks.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in cellular core network deployments.
- Ability to analyze cellular system trace data and pcaps, quickly identifying where issues should be routed.
- Proven success operating as a flexible team player in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment while driving complex initiatives to completion.
- Experience drafting MOPs and executing maintenance windows.
- Strong project management skills, including building and managing detailed project plans.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving network outages.
- Ability to review and interpret technical telco documentation with fluency in industry acronyms and terminology.
- Familiarity with Agile practices and task management tools like Jira (preferred).
