Description

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Recruitment: Lead and manage the complete recruitment lifecycle for a diverse range of roles across the organization. This includes:

  • Sourcing qualified candidates through job boards, social media, industry networks, and proactive outreach, with a focus on professionals experienced in retail construction services (e.g., buildouts and remodels for major retail brands). Build strong talent pipelines and engage candidates effectively to ensure a positive experience.
  • Screening resumes and conducting initial assessments to ensure alignment with project-specific requirements, including experience in tenant improvements, retail fixture installation, and fast-paced construction environments.
  • Interviewing candidates in collaboration with hiring managers to evaluate technical skills, cultural fit and project readiness.
  • Coordinating onboarding processes to ensure smooth transitions for new hires, including field staff, project managers, superintendents, estimators, and support roles.
  • Corporate Recruitment: In addition to field and project-based roles, support hiring for corporate office positions such as administrative staff, finance, HR, and operations, ensuring alignment with company culture and strategic goals.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with hiring managers to understand project staffing needs, timelines, and role requirements of the area.

Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a pipeline of skilled tradespeople and construction professionals for current and future projects.

Employer Branding: Promote the company's reputation as a strong growing entity in the retail construction services space.

Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all hiring practices comply with labor laws and internal policies. This role will require building, formulating and documenting the Talent Acquisition process and procedures for the organization.

Metrics & Reporting: Track recruitment metrics and provide regular updates to internal HR leadership on hiring progress and challenges. Maintain applicant tracking systems and generate recruitment reports.

Cross Functional Coordinator HR Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate employee records for Corporate and Field, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Assist with HRIS data entry, updates, and audits, especially for job site transfers and project-based assignments.
  • Assist Sr HR Generalist with benefits enrollment changes, performance management and other duties as assigned.
  • Support the Senior HR Generalist with employee inquiries during busy periods on policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Assist in the development of reports and presentations to support HR initiatives.
  • Help coordinate HR training sessions, toolbox talks, and compliance-related annual certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required. Some college coursework desired but not necessary. Candidates with equivalent experience in recruiting or talent acquisition within the construction or skilled trades industry may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of recruiting experience, preferably in construction, skilled trades, or industrial services. Demonstrated ability to assist with general HR functions during recruiting downtime.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.
    • Knowledge of UKG Recruiting Gateway preferred not necessary.
    • Familiarity with recruiting, OSHA, EEO, and labor law compliance.
    • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and prioritize effectively.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment and travel to job sites as needed.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Office-based with regular visits to construction sites.
  • May require lifting of materials (up to 25 lbs.), walking in uneven terrain, and wearing safety gear.
  • Frequent use of computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
  • May involve moderate travel for recruitment events, job fairs.
