Founded in 1964, West Anaheim Medical Center is a 219-bed acute-care hospital dedicated to providing the community with high-quality, compassionate healthcare. Key services include general medical and surgical inpatient care and treatment, emergency services, surgical services, behavioral health, comprehensive heart center, and diagnostic imaging.

Responsibilities

Manager of Emergency Department is responsible for the day to day management and coordination of all activities who assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for the management of all nursing service functions within the Emergency department.

Supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations. Supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to the unit and effectively utilizes nursing personnel, time responsibilities for the unit and is directly accountable to the CNO/DON. Communicates effectively with staff, physicians and administration both written and verbally. Interacts with the physicians, hospital staff, outside agencies, patients and patients' families/significant other(s) to provide comprehensive care.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Training

• Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS upon hire and maintain current.
• A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• PALS upon hire and maintain current.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of three years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required for all hires after 1/11/2021.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

• Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
