Responsibilities

The Executive Director of Telemedicine Services provides strategic and operational leadership for the development, implementation, and optimization of telehealth initiatives across the hospital system. This role is responsible for expanding access to high-quality virtual care, aligning services with clinical and organizational goals, and ensuring operational excellence. The position works in close partnership with Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), physician leaders, and system executives to integrate telemedicine into clinical practice, improve patient outcomes, and advance digital health innovation across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings. This position requires the ability to independently identify and fulfill responsibilities with minimal oversight, especially on critical matters. The role frequently involves exercising discretion and independent judgment, evaluating different options, and making informed decisions. The position is expected to effectively prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Master's degree in health administration (MHA), Public Health (MPH), Business Administration (MBA), or related field required.
  • 8–10 years of progressive leadership in healthcare, with at least 3–5 years in telemedicine, virtual care, or digital health within a hospital or health system setting.
  • Proven track record of launching, scaling, and managing virtual care programs in collaboration with clinical leadership.
  • Experience working closely with CEOs, CMOs and other physician leaders on clinical integration and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of telemedicine platforms, healthcare delivery systems, and digital health technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, reimbursement models, and hospital operations.
  • Understands hospital business operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment.
  • Open to travelling up to 50% of the time.
  • Preferred qualifications:

    • Clinical degrees (MD, DO, NP, RN, PA) preferred.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
