HR ASSISTANT (NON-EXEMPT) AT PRIMEFLIGHT
The HR Assistant is responsible for providing support in various human resource functions, including recruitment, staffing, training, and employee relations. This role involves assisting with the administration of HR policies and procedures, maintaining employee records, and helping to coordinate HR projects and activities. The assistant is also involved in organizing and scheduling interviews, processing new hire paperwork, and responding to employee inquiries about HR-related issues. Additionally, they may assist in organizing staff training sessions and maintaining up-to-date compliance with labor laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative support to the HR department in various HR functions
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and files, ensuring compliance with confidentiality policies
- Coordinate and schedule employee orientations, onboarding activities, and training sessions
- Assist in benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and addressing employee inquiries
- Prepare and distribute HR-related communications and notices to employees
- Help in organizing and maintaining HR documentation, including policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits
- Support the performance appraisal process by tracking deadlines and assisting in documentation
- Assist in employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and grievance handling
- Prepare employment verification letters and other HR-related correspondence
- Coordinate employee recognition programs and initiatives to boost morale and engagement
- Maintain HR databases and systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Assist in compliance efforts by staying informed about labor laws and regulations
- Support HR projects and initiatives, such as diversity and inclusion programs
- Coordinate employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and documentation
- Assist in coordinating workplace health and safety programs and compliance
- Manage HR-related invoicing and billing processes, including vendor payments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless HR processes and communication
- Perform other HR-related tasks and duties as assigned to contribute to the smooth operation of the HR department
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
- 2 years of previous experience in an HR support role, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HR practices and labor legislation
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Eligibility to work in a secure and regulated environment
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations
