Technical Support Engineer
Our incredible client in Ashburn, VA is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join their team! Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, the Technical Support Engineer will join the team in Ashburn, VA.
You'll work closely with the sales team to specify custom monitoring solutions for data center owners and operators. You demonstrate your expertise by working with both engineers and C-suite executives, providing support on-site, by email, and by phone. You know how to explain technical concepts to non-technical people.
You have great experience diagnosing and troubleshooting EPMS issues relating to low voltage (480V) applications, power metering, networking, PLC/HMI integration and common industry communication protocols. You've proven you can work together with both internal teams and customer contacts to provide timely resolution to facility power issues.
Compensation: $DOE Location: Ashburn, VA Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:00AM – 5:00PM Hybrid Technical Support Engineer Responsibilities:
- Developing Electrical Power Monitoring System solutions (EPMS)
- Advise sales team and customers on product selection for their projects.
- Assist our customers with configuration and setup of hardware and software.
- Provide customer training for commissioned systems.
- Develop documentation for the as-built system
- Respond to service requests from customers, both on-site and remote.
- Work well in a customer-facing position in a team environment
- Travel up to 20%
Technical Support Engineer Requirements:
- College degree or technical diploma (*Will consider New Electrical Engineer Grads)
- Knowledge and experience in fundamentals of electronics, electrical technology and basics of energy meters
- Demonstrated interest in technology, particularly related to electronics, instrumentation, or process control
- Interest in developing your skills and understanding process control applications
- Experience working in customer support or in a similar role involving the fundamentals of electrical systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working with end customers
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Technical Support Engineer **Preferred Requirements:**
- Experience working with sophisticated data center owners/operators.
- Experience working with LV/HV meters
- Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in data center operations and industrial manufacturing settings
