Shrink Wrap Operator

The Shrink Wrap Operator is responsible for the efficient and quality operation of the shrink-wrap machinery, ensuring continuous production flow and product packaging according to specifications. This role supports overall production logistics, including material handling and backing up other critical production functions.

Location: Ft. Worth, TX

Reports to: Production Manager

Schedule: Wednesday - Friday, 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Operate, set up, and adjust the shrink-wrap machine controls to accommodate various products.
  • Ensure rewinders and associated equipment remain operational to meet production demands.
  • Perform routine checks, inspections, and minor maintenance on the shrink-wrap machine.
  • Sort, count, and visually inspect unwrapped and wrapped products, promptly removing any defective or damaged items.
  • Complete quality checklists and sign off on every job to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Transport wrapped products to the designated shipping area.
  • Contribute to meeting established production efficiency standards.
  • Serve as backup support for material staging, production receiving, and production shipping as needed.
  • Assist with the staging of plates, tools, and ink when required.
  • Notify supervisors when machine supplies require reordering.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements to management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in operating and making adjustments to shrink-wrap machinery, including computer controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow both written and verbal instructions and equipment manuals.
  • Basic mathematical aptitude.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Skill in using common tools for maintenance and adjustments.
  • Capability to work productively with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all organizational levels.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous related experience (preferred); on-the-job training will be provided.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $17.00 - $17.00
