Electrical Engineer

A growing engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing complex power distribution systems, conducting technical site evaluations, and performing advanced power systems analysis.

We are looking for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is capable of managing projects from the initial site data collection through to commissioning support.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design: Develop detailed plans, technical specifications, and reports for power distribution and electrical systems.
  • Documentation: Create one-line diagrams, electrical room layouts, and raceway/wiring schedules.
  • Specialized Design: Manage lighting and grounding system designs.
  • Equipment Specification: Select and specify switchgear, transformers, MCCs, power panels, and associated hardware.
  • Power Analysis: Utilize industry-standard software (EasyPower and/or SKM) to perform:
    • Short Circuit Analysis
    • Arc Flash Analysis
    • Protective Device Coordination
  • Field Work: Travel to client sites to evaluate existing systems, obtain data, and provide commissioning support.
  • Compliance: Ensure all designs align with NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, and other relevant codes and standards.

Job Standards & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work overtime as needed and travel to client locations.
  • Work Environment: Capability to work effectively in both remote and office-based settings.
  • Safety: Strict adherence to company and client-specific safety requirements.
