Job Summary: A Shipping And Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments. This role supports warehouse operations by organizing load priority and coordinating with carriers and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Email and telephone communication with customers and carriers
Managing the daily inbound and outbound schedule
Order processing and closing shipped orders in Warehouse Management system
Occasional inventory checks per customer request
Keeping organized files and records of all schedules, BOLs, and other paperwork
Empty Container Inventory
Assigning containers to orders based on age, size, weight and RailRoad allowances
Required Qualifications
Previous warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience is a plus
Basic computer and data entry skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
Experience using inventory management systems
Knowledge of shipping procedures and logistics, specifically railroad/container
Time management and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
Office/Warehouse – Heavy equipment present
PPE required for warehouse entry
Possible overtime or weekend shifts during busy periods
