This is a temporary-to-hire, in-person position, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To ensure a manageable daily commute, candidates must reside within a 15-mile radius of Cumming, GA.
Pay Rate: $21-$24 per hour based on experience
Company Overview: Fast-paced international shipping company specializing in vehicle and cargo shipments to West Africa. We provide comprehensive logistics solutions, including booking, export documentation, customs assistance, and inventory management.
Position Summary: The Customer Service Data Entry Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations by providing excellent customer service and accurate data entry. This individual will handle a high volume of calls, manage various administrative tasks, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming phone calls and resolve customer inquiries and issues.
- Guide new clients through shipping processes and provide rate quotes.
- Look up sailing schedules and identify shipment statuses.
- Maintain and update inbound vehicle inventory records.
- Make bookings, prepare dock receipts, and file shipper's export declarations.
- Prepare export documents (CTNs) as required by the country of destination.
- Assist with US Customs problems and monitor delivered vehicles and Customs clearances.
- Process vehicles upon loading onto vessels.
- Track down payments and balance due payments.
- Collaborate closely with trucking companies for vehicle deliveries to the port.
- Routinely update the internal bookkeeping system.
- Utilize various software applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, Streamline/Salesforce, and web-based applications.
Requirements:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a high-volume customer service and data entry role, preferably within logistics, shipping, or a related industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Streamline) and web-based applications.
- Data Entry Accuracy: Demonstrated track record of accurate and efficient data entry in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Call Handling: Strong call handling and active listening abilities.
- Multi-tasking & Prioritization: Exceptional multi-tasking skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy, and expert ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and high call volumes simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve complex customer issues and data discrepancies.
