To plan, coordinate and control specific Facility Maintenance operations. Responsible for the maintenance of specific physical facilities. Provide for an uninterrupted flow of utilities based upon existing design criteria. Major emphasis shall be placed upon preventative and predictive maintenance. Coordination and supervision of Facility Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance personnel. Management of all construction and facility projects. Administers and supervises the housekeeping and laundry functions of the all hospital facilities.

Education: High school diploma/GED is required. High school plus trade or vocational school in a related field. Three to five years experience in commercial, institutional or healthcare facility at a management level preferred.

Directs and coordinates employee activities in multiple functions of one or more facilities. Interview, select, orient, evaluate and terminate departmental staff as appropriate to assure necessary staffing of the department. Ensures enforcement of PHS Facility Maintenance policies and procedures. Evaluates employee performance including corrective action when necessary. Assists in training of safety and education. Attends educational forums applicable to healthcare maintenance. Ensures that repair and preventive maintenance work orders are completed in a timely quality manner. Recommends program strategies to establish and implement policies and procedures for operations. Supports organizational visions, values and strategies. Evaluates, maintains and monitors the performance of the PHS Facility Maintenance. Recommends departmental budget to ensure consistent and reliable operation of mechanical equipment. Participates in creating the yearly Capital Department Budget and participates on the Capital and Facilities Planning Committee. Establish responsibilities for each employee and be sure the employee fully understands your expectations. Report Life Safety incidents to the supervisory staff. Manages and coordinates the planning, implementation and completion of all facility remodeling and construction projects. Manages the maintenance of all hospital facilities and land property. Understands departmental operating budget. Ensures operations are within budget. Environmental Services: Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Assures an adequate supply of linens, supplies and equipment. Supervises all departmental personnel to assure provision of a clean, safe environment for residents and staff. Performs housekeeping duties as required to meet goals on a daily basis. Assures that laundry services are provided in an effective and efficient manner and that clean linens are available.
