Actively seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (Engineer Level II) to join our Precise Systems team at Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) in support of the MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) Equipment Branch (E52). This full-time, in-office contract position provides VLS equipment engineering in execution of the in-service engineering agent tasking across the VLS equipment branch project portfolio. This role is critical in aligning engineering, test, and logistics activities with program objectives to sustain fleet readiness and increase combat system capabilities.

Duties

  • Provide electro/mechanical engineering expertise in performance of fleet technical assistance (TECHASSIST), systems and equipment failure investigations, shipboard technical manual documentation, launcher and equipment installation, modernization & testing, depot level support, and launcher component harvesting from decommissioned ships
  • Participate in Failure Review Boards (FRB), Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and various Integrated Product Teams (IPT) in support of VLS equipment engineering
  • Author and review ISEA procedures, fault tree diagrams, investigation test plans, T&E (Test & Evaluation) shipboard procedures, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) & Ordnance Alteration (ORDALT) procedures
  • Support Fleet Symposiums & Conferences, Program and Financial Reviews, Combat Systems Assessment Team (CSAT) Inspections and Shipboard Launcher Grooms

Required Experience

  • At least two yearsโ€™ experience in equipment engineering, specifically related to troubleshooting and failure investigating operational failures; use of technical manuals, engineering drawings & schematics, design documentation, and technical specifications for fault isolation

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Expertise (knowledge, skills, and abilities) with electronics test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, Time Domain Reflectometers (TDR), Function Generators, Logic and Power Supply Analyzers, and Automatic Test Equipment (ATEs)
  • Problem-solving skills in identifying problems, developing solutions, and implementing fixes; breaking down complex issues into smaller, manageable parts and finding creative solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders, present findings, and facilitate technical discussion and collaboration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Teams)

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electronics Engineering (BSEET)

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $56,028.11 to $84,042.17 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
