Point of Rental is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Salesforce CPQ & Billing Specialist (Contract) to support and optimize our quote-to-cash and invoicing operations. This contractor role will focus on hands-on work within Salesforce CPQ, with strong collaboration across sales, finance, and operations teams to ensure data accuracy, proper revenue recognition, and smooth billing workflows. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating and learning complex configurations, communicating directly with business stakeholders, and applying accounting concepts to technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition in line with internal policies and standards (e.g., ASC 606).
- Support and improve the quote-to-cash process, ensuring data integrity from opportunity through invoicing.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design process improvements, and implement system changes.
- Identify and resolve issues impacting downstream processes such as revenue schedules, subscription billing, and renewals.
- Communicate and document root cause analysis as well as resolve issues that pertain to invoicing, revenue recognition, billing entities, and user errors.
- Work cross-functionally to align Salesforce processes with broader GTM and accounting objectives.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience working with Salesforce CPQ or similar system (configuration, pricing, quoting, or billing).
- Solid understanding of invoicing, revenue recognition, and basic accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to connect system logic to financial outcomes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work closely with accounting and business stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability and ownership mindset.
Preferred:
- Experience integrating Salesforce with ERP or billing systems (e.g., NetSuite, FinancialForce, Zuora).
- Salesforce Administrator or CPQ Specialist certification.
- Experience in SaaS or subscription-based business models.
Contract Details:
- Position Type: Contractor; Full-Time, Hourly
- Compensation: $90,000 annualized equivalent
- Location: Remote
- Duration: Initial 12-month contract (potential for renewal or conversion)
