Software Engineer Lead

As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's ACFR organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh-PA or Strongsville-OH.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead full stack development using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular/React.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Optimize performance and ensure high code quality.
  • Analyze and enhance existing systems.
  • Implement new features based on business requirements.
  • Provide L3 support and resolve production issues.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks (SOX, GDPR, etc.).
  • Implement logging, auditing, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Support audits and maintain documentation.
  • Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.

Skills:

  • Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs
  • Proficiency in Angular or React, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Solid understanding of SQL/Oracle or other databases
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Prior work in regulatory, financial domains
  • Experience implementing compliance features (audit logs, data masking, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience leading development teams
  • Clear articulation of project roles and contributions
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to mentor and collaborate
  • Strong written and verbal communication

Preferred Certifications:

  • Java certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified)
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure)

  • Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.
  • Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs. Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
  • Facilitates complex problem resolution.
  • Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues. Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
  • Applies modern principles, methodologies and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.

Pay Transparency:

Base Salary: $55,000.00 – $179,400.00 Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
