As a Machine Learning Engineer within PNC's Data and Automation Artificial Intelligence, you will be based in Pittsburgh-PA, Cleveland-OH, or Strongsville-OH. The Data & Automation Artificial Intelligence team is at the intersection of business, innovation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive PNC's transformative initiatives. Our mission is to solve the bank's toughest challenges while enhancing both customer and employee experiences. We achieve this by collaborating closely with various business lines and their technology teams to identify and deliver high-value business opportunities, maintain and enhance AI technologies and capabilities, and introduce new AI technologies into the bank. The role of Machine Learning Engineer will be pivotal in developing and deploying emerging technologies, enabling Generative AI (GenAI) pathways such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), zero-shot, and few-shot learning. As a member of our GenAI Engineering team, you will be responsible for building scalable solutions across the enterprise. To excel in this position, a candidate needs a strong background in application development, solution design, process improvement, and User Experience (UX) design. We are specifically looking for someone with experience in Python, JavaScript, React, and Django or similar Python-based application support, along with a solid foundation in machine learning. This role will focus on developing our GenAI projects, particularly our RAG Retrieval-Augmented Generation initiatives.

Job Description

Develops cross-functional, multi-platform machine learning software systems. Leverages technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain technology solutions. Utilizes knowledge of probability and statistics to create machine learning algorithms. Applies higher level math to build new models and validate existing models. Possesses Machine Learning industry knowledge and stays current on best practices, hot topics, and emerging trends. Utilizes industry knowledge to inform decisions and recommendations to line of business partners. Performs application programming activities including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, maintaining, and modifying machine learning systems. Engages in data modeling to identify the underlying structure of a dataset and finds patterns or properties, which lead to machine learning improvement recommendations.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $55,000.00 – $161,200.00 Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
