We are looking for a talented Principal Software Engineer who is passionate about building innovative solutions for Autodesk prospects, customers, and partners. You will be empowered to catalyze our growth to from $5b to $10b+ through improved funnel conversion, hypothesis-driven experimentation, productivity, automation, insights, and experiences to increase the revenue.
Responsibilities
- Work within a scrum team with about 7-8 engineers
- Drive and foster the collaboration with other scrum teams located around the world
- As the primary developer, boldly lead to design, implement, test and deliver web applications and services
- Help team to remove obstacles, drive solutions for challenges, predict risks, and figure out mitigation plan
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders in different phases in terms of requirements clarification, solution/planning review, status/progress sharing etc
- Demonstrate the sense of engineering excellence and lead or contribute to make positive impact to teams' deliveries with high quality
- Drive best practice into team/product and promote our best practice/achievement to outside
- Advanced expert role, requiring deep subject-matter knowledge and sound business acumen to advise leaders
- For jobs at this level, knowledge of the business starts to become as important as subject-matter knowledge
- Incumbents translate specialized subject-matter requirements into business needs/requirements
- Require depth of specialized expertise to interpret internal/external business issues and recommend best practices to address them
- Solve complex problems that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors by taking a broad perspective to identify the best approach and innovative solutions
- Work independently, with close guidance in only the most complex or unusual situations
- Adapt communication style to persuade various stakeholders across the business and frequently interact with senior leaders to provide advice and SME
- May lead functional teams or programs within own function (or closely related functions)
Minimum Qualifications
- BS or higher in computer science or related technical discipline
- 6+ years of software development experience in commercialized products or big-scale systems
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong sense of ownership and competence in driving alignments
- Embrace changes and can work under pressure
- Java, JavaScript /Typescript / Node.js, React experience
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,500 and $180,840. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
